The Diocese of Southwark ministers to nearly three million people over an area of 317 square miles through its 293 parishes and 105 church schools. McLoughlin Contracting was requested to attend St Marks Vicarage to carry out a full refurbishment.
On completion of all preparation works the walls and ceilings in all living areas were decorated with an application of mist coat and 2 coats of emulsion. In the bathroom 2 coats of white bathroom eggshell were applied and a full coat of white gloss to all timber.
Carpet was removed from the wc’s and bathrooms and replaced with floor tiles and the kitchen flooring was also replaced taking extra special care as not to disturb the kitchen units. The carpet to the hall, stairs and landing area was replaced and laminate flooring was installed throughout the ground floor living area.
The shower needed to be removed and replaced ensuring a watertight fit, mastic was applied to both the shower and wash basins and a Saniflow System was installed. Carpentry works consisted of window and door repairs as well as attention to door fixtures.
Electrical tests were carried out and certified, dimmer switches installed and light fittings replaced. The boiler was also checked and certified.
External redecorations were completed as in line with the Diocesan Specification in colour to match the existing and included works to gate, garage door, boundary wall and the install of a timber trellis.
Attention to gutters and down pipes and roof tiles was needed therefore hop-ups, step ladders MEWPS, Scaffolding and towers to reach these areas were required.
2 meter distancing was maintained when carrying out all works to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
